Mflyphone is the first international league where throwing an old mobile phone becomes an act of awareness, sport, and creativity. A unique event that brings together recycling, technology, and urban culture.
The mobile phone throwing competition originated in Finland in 2000. It’s the only sport in the world where you can release your frustration with modern technology, have fun, and recycle at the same time.
Held across Europe, the current world record stands at 101.46 meters. Movilfest includes this event in its program to promote recycling and to create a more just, healthy, fun and equal world.
Participation is free by donating a mobile phone for the Movilfestrecycle initiative. Prizes are awarded to the top three throws and to anyone who beats the current world record.
“A single phone battery can pollute 600,000 liters of water — the equivalent of 2,600 bathtubs.”
